Custom Sawmilling
We have two sawmills at that we use to process logs. The size and shape of the log and what type of material we want the log to yield will determine what mill we use.
For processing large logs we utilize our custom built chain slabbing sawmill. This mill was custom built specifically for cutting large diameter and/or interestingly shaped logs into live edge slabs.
The benefits of the chain slabbing sawmill are that the bar/chain combo does not deflect with knots and highly figured crotch sections within the log like a band sawmill does. This means that we get
For smaller logs and cutting dimensional lumber we use a Woodmizer bandsaw mill.
The bandsaw is capable of cutting 24" wide x 17' long slabs, lumber, and mantles.
